|

This midi:
http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/19/1363402/Take%20it%20All.mid
I tried editing it, but for some reason, track 2 and track 5 have some notes that are being tied to nothing and its causing the notes to be sustained and it gets annoying. Can anyone help me? I need someone to remove the ties. I'm still just a beginner at making midis. |

Hi,
The only way to do it is with your editor, stepping through every measure and taking each tie off at a time.
There's another method, but it's more complicated because you have to know how to program, and midi internals too, with the help of "MidiTools" and "Mathlab". But it's not worth the try I think.
Hope this helps.

| I tried, it and it didn't work. I only have the free version of Anvil studio. When I recheck add Tie, nothing happens. |

Hi,
I downloaded Anvil. On the composer view, move to the note(s) you want the tie being deleted from.
Be sure to stand exactly over the note that shows the tie.
Right click your mouse.
A dialog box will appear with a checkmark on the "tie to next" option.
Select that option to toggle to unckecked. That's it.

On second thought,
I saw what you described as tied to nothing slurs, and they were not there the first time I went to that measure.
This editor is tricky.
The only way I could get rid of those was "redrawing" the notes (or stepping over with the same notes)
I don't feel very comfortable with that editor though. |

| The midi file does not have those ties really. It's a bug in the anvil editor that shows them. I opened it successfully in several editors and none of them show those ties in the third track. If you want to edit that song, you have to do it in another editor. |

oh alright then, cool . But do the ties take an effect when the song is played? For the moment, the ties are taking effect making the song sound ugly. |

I can assure to you that the ties you see on Anvil are not played in reproduction of the MID file. Maybe there's another thing that causes the midi to sound ugly, not the ties. |
