Hello,

I have been wanting to be able to compose music for ages now (as in away from any instruments, just writing down what's in my head) but was just wondering how to go about it in a beginner fashion.I can play guitar and know the fretboard quite well but I can't read standard music notation (although I can work out all the notes in a treble clef lol). Now I am probably gonna want to compose mostly for piano (odd on a guitar site).I am mostly influenced just now by Nobuo Uematsu who composed music for all the Final Fantasy computer games, beautifull music.Obviously I need to start reading music, do you think transcribing will help? I should probably also learn to play the piano a bit better. In general though I should probably brush up on my scales and modes.Any hints and tips or links to resources that would help me in what seems to be a long road ahead?

Please help.

I didn't find the right solution from the Internet.
