Hello,

I have brought up this thought experiment a couple of times before, but I believe I may not have explained it well enough such that the responses I received were less than ideal. I hope I’ve learned enough to describe this thought experiment so everyone can easily understand it. Imagine a piece of music that you love written by a favorite composer. Maybe it’s a Beethoven or Mozart symphony. Maybe a Wagner opera. You learn today that instead of the composer having written the work, someone wrote it recently (maybe 50 years ago). If it’s easier, imagine that a Beethoven/Mozart/Wagner work was discovered 50 years ago. But the work is as wonderful as Beethoven’s 9th/Mozart’s 41st/Wagner’s Tristan.
