I am really new to this scene but I found a song I had been looking for on here and so all night I have been trying to convert a mp3 to midi so I can play along with it, but to no avail. I would like some pointers on how you guys do what you do, or if someone could just do the two songs I requested I would greatly appriciate it.
Sincerely,

Currently there is no software able to convert mp3 to MIDI.
There is software, one of which is called WIDI, which can digitize the frequencies of an mp3 to MIDI, but the outcome is usually far from what you expect.
Technology is not already there.
What I do is I use a midi editor, then input note by note, track by track. I usually do it by ear unless I have a score available to input (and even scores are not 100% accurate).
You can also play the song in a MIDI instrument which records a MIDI file in your computer.
Depending on the complexity of the composition, it may take a couple of hours to several days. |
