I really want to know how to play by ear. I've been only playing the keyboard for like 5 months, and I want some advice for playing by ear. Thanks in advance for your help.

You need ear training. Your brain has to recognize intervals pretty well if you want to play by ears. There are some ear training website out there, such as http://www.good-ear.com/
