Diva's Lament (What Ever Happened To My Part) from Spamalot is good.
On my own from Les Mis is also good half way through when belted.
Or if you're really adventurous try No Good Deed, The Wizard and I or Defying Gravity from Wicked. But too many times have I heard these songs murdered so I'd watch out... _________________ Do you hear that playing? Do you know who's playing?! |

How about almost anything from Chicago or Cabaret
Or Lucy in Jekyll and Hyde
Or Any of Dolly Levi's songs in Hello, Dolly
I would pick these over a more modern piece unless it fits the part you want... that way you aren't just another person coming in and singing the "latest craze" I know that happens a lot with Wicked and "Astonishing" |

i agree. i've been working on those songs from wicked but wouldn't dare to do them for auditions right now since it's so overdone. i've heard a lot of Wicked songs "murdered." even Popular! haha. well, thanks again, everybody. |

"Always a Bridesmaid" from I Love you, You're Perfect, Now Change, is good, as is "Happily Happily" or Shy" from "Once Upon a Mattress."[/i] |
